How can this example deviation be handled in the MRP system were cost and inventory tracking is temporary and variant?

 

Each material sheet as called out on the released drawing, has a base quantity 1 each. The material tolerance is unique to each supplier requirement.

 

These pre-cut, raw materials, will share the same unique identifier per sheet for costing and routing in inventory.

This question came from our engineering team so let me translate.

A part is made and we sub a different thickness of steel. The 2 sheets of steel will have different costs. Is it possible to track the cost difference, or would the cost be averaged.

@AndrewBGL  - are you using Standard Cost or Actual. If Actual are you using Average?
