I’m trying to create a dashboard widget that shows end inventory balance by period as a line graph. The Account by Period inquiry has the information I need when I filter to our inventory account, but when I try to add this inquiry to a widget it returns ‘No Data’. Is there a way to easily copy this report into my own GI?

Because Dashboard displays default data of Inquiry Screen selected in Widget. Then the default "Account by Period" screen when you open it has no data (you must select an account for the data to display).
To check this:
In the Widget > Inquiry Screen > Select "Account Summary" then the Dashboard will display data because when you open the "Account Summary" screen, the default data is already there.
