If Inventory ID is 30 nvarchar why am I only able to enter 20 characters in the Stock Items page?

On trying to setup Matrix Items, I noticed that the Stock Items page Inventory ID only allows the entry of 20 characters and the field is set as 30 nvarchar long, any idea why?

This is set up via Segmented Keys as shown in my screenshot. You have to edit the Length of the Segment ID

    I see that ours is set to 20, I’m going to have to check with our VAR why was this limited to 20.
