How to remove inventory allocation for existing sales orders?

Hello,

We’ve been live in Acumatica for just over a month now and are running into some questions surrounding the MTO process. In short, inventory has been tied to a sales order as we expect in the MTO process. However, in some cases we’d like to remove the inventory allocation.

If we go to the sales order and uncheck the Mark for Production box, that doesn’t seem to be removing the inventory allocated to the sales order. I understand the inventory was probably reserved during the sales order create process.

Is there another process we aren’t aware of to remove the inventory allocation link to an existing sales order?

    Are you trying to remove the allocation before or after the production order quantities have been completed?

    • Before completed quantity is reported:
      You can remove the allocation by clearing the Sales Order reference from the production order record in the Production Order Maintenance (AM201500) form. This will break the link between the production order and the sales order.

    • After completed quantity is reported:
      You can remove the allocation by deleting the lines in the Line Details section and then re-adding them.

      ​@bosborne  In the Sales order, select the Sales order line and open the Line Details popup.

        ​@bosborne You can use Manage sales allocation feature as well.

         

        Typically the allocation located in itemplan table.
