How to enter BOM run time for intervals less than 1 minute intervals?

It seems that the run time for labor and machine cannot be less than whole minute intervals. The BOM preference options do not appear to have an option to capture seconds. It feels like this cannot be right so what am I missing?

Note: I saw a post on this from 2 years ago but there do not seem to be any changes to the options.

This functionality does not exist

The work around would be to increase the run units.  Instead of 1 unit per second used 60 units per 1 minute.

There is an existing Community Idea to support seconds on which I would encourage you to vote

Based on my testing , Here is the result for the workaround to increase run units.

The run time is set at 2 minutes per 10 units.

We are producing 3 units - So the planned run time should be calculated as 0.6 minutes (36 seconds). But the minimum it can get to is 1 min.

Has anyone explored any customization? Thoughts?
