Is it possible to have a finished good in a BOM?  Would the production order process the components with the BOM?  For instance, if we need to add a few components to an already defined Finished good.

You should be able to add a material to a BOM and issue the material to the production order once created.

I think the only limitation regarding material is you cannot add the item you are producing on the BOM as a required material on the same BOM.

But let’s say you have finished good like a computer in stock but realize it’s missing a component and need to re-work or repair the computer to now add that component. You could create a production order to produce the computer and then issue the computer to that same production order.

Hope this helps!

If you add it as a Phantom - then the material of the Finished good BOM would be rolled into the parent BOM.  Is that what you are looking for?

Yes, this is what I needed.

Thank you
