Cost Roll only rolls material cost to standard cost, does not roll fixed or variable labor based on BOM

Hi everyone

I am experiencing an issue with Cost Roll.

based on documentation, we should be able to use Cost Roll to update standard cost of BOM item has valuation method set to standard, including material, labour, overhead etc.

When we used Cost Roll, it only seems to roll material cost into standard cost, not labour cost.

Could you please help me and advise what I might be doing wrong here?

Many thanks.

To what documentation are you referring?

All the cost of a subassembly BOM (labor, overhead, material) is rolled to the material cost of the parent item.  The labor and overhead of the subassembly are not retained separately as labor and overhead costs of the parent.

Hi Angie

Thank you for reply me so quickly.

Wiki on Cost Roll stated “You can use this form to do the following: Roll up the costs of bills of material (BOMs) based on the costs of the entities included in the BOMs, such as labour or material.”

The BOM we are using is a single level BOM. The labour costs are from the work centres within the BOM, not from a subassembly.

BOM cost calculation accounts for labour - both fixed and variable.

When we tried to Cost Roll, only material cost was rolled onto the pending standard cost of inventory item the BOM defaults to.

Hope this make sense.
