25r2 - Generate Cost Roll - Multi level - Does not propagate when Inventory ID is entered

multi level cost roll works across all BOM levels when no additional filters are used.

Does Not work when trying to roll from bottom up using “BOM Material ID” filters.

Have purchase parts that are consumed in multiple BOM trees across 5 upper levels. When the purchase price increases for that part, the pending is automatically updated from the invoice via business event. I want to selectively push that new purchase cost into all BOM trees in a single “Generate Cost Roll - Update Material Costs - Update Pending and Archive - Update Standard Costs” pass.

Why does the “BOM Material ID” filter stop the chain from rolling across all levels when running a wide open roll successfully updates all levels of the BOM trees?

Running a single warehouse, have tested all settings I could possibly use. If you have an idea please let me know and I’ll give it a try! I have a concise BOM tree that is spread across 5 levels that I can use to test and check.

@cpitts  It is a bug. Please create support ticket for it.

@PragatiMalviya64 is this a known bug in 25r2 ?

I’m working on a customization to extend the BOM Material ID field over to the Process Rollups screen, just wondering if Acumatica already knows of the bug.

Also, I’ve never created a ticket directly to Acumatica. Is this something that i can do directly or do i have to go through my 3rd party provider?

@PragatiMalviya64  BOM Material ID not working with Multi cost roll is not known bug.

I am not aware of any bug or enhancement related to extending BOM Material ID field to Process Rollups screen. You can create and ask that by submitting support ticket as well.

@Chris Hackett  Could you please provide guidance for submitting the support ticket ?

@cpitts Pragati's right that it's a bug. The 2026 R1 code shows where it goes wrong, which should help with both your ticket and your customization.

With BOM Material ID filled in, Generate Cost Rollups (AM518000) skips the normal full roll. It starts at the BOMs that use your part and climbs through their parents to the top, numbering the levels as it goes up. Then it rolls that list highest level first. Because the levels were numbered going up, the top of each tree gets costed first. Each parent is costed before its subassemblies have a new cost in that pass, so it falls back to the subassembly's existing standard or pending cost. The new price only reaches the BOMs that use the part directly. None of the settings on the form change that order.

The wide-open roll builds its list from the top down, so the deepest level has the highest number and the same sort rolls it first. That's why it works.

The results already carry a flag for this, IsWhereUsedResults on MultiLevelBomResults, that flips the sort to lowest level first. Nothing in the code sets it to true. If your Process Rollups extension feeds the material into the same multi-level filter, it will hit the same sort, so that flag is the place to fix it. I haven't run that change myself, and I don't see a fix for this in the 2026 R2 release notes. Mention the flag in your ticket so support can go straight to it.
