Question

Including invoice attachments when emailing via a template. Has anyone done this recently?

Sorry if this is a dupe. I'm sure it's come up before, but I wanted to see if anyone has actually got it working lately. I’ve seen a few posts, but they are older versions and I haven’t found any with it actually implemented, just general ideas.

Basically, when we email an invoice using an email template, we'd also like the files attached to that invoice record to go out with it.

If you've got it running, I'd love to hear how you did it and roughly which version you're on.

Thanks in advance!

Here is an Acumatica idea asking for this functionality

Ability to Copy Static Attachments from Entity to Email Notification | Community

Your current options are…

  1. Customization
  2. Send the attachments out as download links. This only works if you use external file storage as Acumatica download links require a user login.

Hi @memanuelli

In the email template that you create, you can add the invoice printed form as attachment under the ‘Attached Reports’ tab. Is this what you are looking for?

Hope this helps!

Thanks @jzhu. That "Attached Reports" tab attaches the printed invoice form (the AR641000 report), which I've already got. What I'm after is the actual Files attached to the invoice record itself going out on the email. Different thing, but appreciate it.

Thanks @bwhite49, that Idea confirms it's not native. Download links wouldn't work for us sadly. So it's a customization. Did you or anyone here actually build it? I found a few older threads that mention doing similar, so it looks doable, just checking if anyone's done it.

Your VAR or an independent developer can work with you on a solution.

I’ve done it with Purchase Orders

EDIT: actually, it wasn’t quite the same. I’ve added attachments when using the ‘Email’ button and also when using a Business Event with the Email subscriber
