When applying a screen configuration in the Modern UI, it asks if the Personal Configurations should be preserved or overwritten. But how we know which users have Personal Configurations?

To my understanding, the load personal configuration button should open a dialog box that displays a list of users who have customized layout for the current form.

Outside of this, I don’t think there is way to tell out of box who has personal configuration. I always preserve personal configuration incase other users have made changes themselves, since preserve is applying your changes to the shared layout while preserving theirs.

Thanks, good suggestion.  Everything in Acumatica is in the database.  Maybe turning on the profiler will uncover which DACs store the data.

@dgodsill97  AFAIK personal UI customizations in Acumatica should be stored in system DB tables:

  • ScreenPreferences for personal customizations
  • DefaultScreenPreferenses for shared customizations

Both tables are very similar, their only difference is one extra UserName field in the primary key of ScreenPreferences records which is reasonable since the tables keeps personal UI customizations.

The rest of the PK is the same - CompanyID for tenant data isolation, Screen ID to identify screen, PreferenceKey to identify the affected UI control, PreferenceType to distinguish between difference types of stored control preferences for the same UI control.

The data itself is stored in Preferences column which should keep JSON data in a string format. AFAIK, there is no common format for the stored JSON, it can be different for different types of control preferences.

AFAIK?  Are the DACs exposed to Generic Inquiries/Report?
