Hi Community,

I’m hearing things about dashboards working dynamically for the user who is logged in but I’m not finding much on this topic in the community. Can anyone tell me if it’s possible and point me in the right direction for this?

Our case: We have over 10 salespersons and each have their own salesperson associate (support person). Up until now they’ve had one dashboard used in a “Create User Copy” mode but maintaining this is getting cumbersome. We want to take this to the next level - first thought was using parameters but that means the rep has to enter their ID every day, then someone mentioned dynamic logged in by user. We have our Salesperson to Employee to User linked using their one ID but does anyone have more information on how to create this?

Thanks!

We have a generic inquiry that lists all open projects.  Here is the relationship:

Results grid has:

Dashboard has these widgets that are based on the PM viewing the dashboard:

We have a Project Management dashboard that displays each widget for the particular PM logged in.   Filter each widget with @me for the sales person for your situation.   This is what is done for the PMs in the widgets for projects:

We also didn’t want each PM to have to select themselves to view the dashboard.

@suebrown ahhh, so the @me will work because our Salesperson to Employee to User is linked! Gotcha! I think I last looked at this before this link was corrected. What is behind your PMProject_ownerID field, just the relations as mentioned?

@suebrown you inspired me with your joins and then our sales team threw a wrench in the works and asked for a 2:1 ratio of Sales Rep to Sales Associate (aka 1 SA has 2 different SRs)….

So we (my dev and I) repurposed some old CustomerUserID fields duplicated the joins and we now have dynamically logged in dashboards for the reps and a separate one for the associates. Thanks!!

Glad you could repurpose fields and get the dashboards tailored for the different users -- creative!
