Does Acumatica Support Custom Forms and Printouts Based on Them?

Hi All,

In NetSuite, we have the ability to create and manage multiple custom forms for the same transaction type. For example, with Purchase Orders:

  • Regular PO Form:
The standard template used for most purchase orders.

  • AfterMarkets PO Form:
A customized form tailored for aftermarket transactions, possibly with additional fields or different layouts to suit specific business needs.

  • Tipalti-Synced PO Form:
A unique custom form designed for purchase orders that are synced from Tipalti, which may include special fields.

This flexibility allows us to:

  • Assign different forms to various business processes or integration scenarios.
  • Control which fields, layouts are shown depending on the context of the transaction.
  • Enhance user experience and enforce process consistency across different types of purchase orders.

We are currently implementing Acumatica and would like to know more about its capabilities regarding custom forms and related printouts. Specifically:

  • Custom Forms:

    • Does Acumatica allow users to create or customize data entry forms, transaction forms?
    • What level of customization is possible (e.g., rearranging fields, adding custom fields, changing labels, adjusting layouts, etc.)?
    • Are there tools or modules within Acumatica to manage these customizations?
    • Can custom forms be assigned to specific user roles?
    • Are there any best practices or limitations to be aware of when customizing forms in Acumatica?
  • Printouts/Reports Based on Custom Forms:

    • Is it possible to generate printouts (such as PDFs or printed reports) that reflect the layout and fields of a custom form?
    • Can print templates be linked to specific custom forms or transaction types?
    • Are there any considerations or limitations when setting up printouts for custom forms?

I’d appreciate any insights, experiences, or documentation links you can share!

Thank you in advance!

Thanks,

Ashok
