Does anyone have experience integrating Acumatica to warehouse high density storage systems?  A customer of ours has Acumatica with distribution and warehouse management.  They have just ordered a Kardex VLM (Vertical Lift Module).  They used to be called vertical carousels.

I am presuming that, because each VLM could require a separate pick list, that they would need to be configured as warehouses.  Could they, instead, be treated as locations?

What else do we need to consider?

Hi @gdow23

I would be interested to know whether you are going to implement OOB Acumatica Warehousing or whether you’re using an ISV.

I have seen an implementation where this will be configured as a Location, not a Warehouse.

Have you thought about how you will record the pick in Acumatica ERP?

All readers of this post - am interested in how many others out there are considering VLM in the warehouse or already have a VLM.

Acumatica created a customizaton to export the production order data for picking the order to Kardex Power Pick Global (PPG) that used SQL as it’s database.  The Kardex system stored reels of electronic components. This was done by the Services Group.  Acumatica was on premise so a different approach will be needed.  In this environment the user keyed in the production order number into Kardex and it delivered the reels to the user.  All of these storage systems support methods to feed data or commands either thru an import process or calling their API.  You will need to get the user/developer manuals for Kardex.  A separate warehouse was not used and Kardex was a single location.
