Update existing record only

This depends on the way how the import/update was designed and done. Is this an import scenario or a custom solution which updates the records?

Hi, it's an import scenario, done many of these to create new records or update existing records but not where a record potentially does not exist

As far as I know Acumatica does not support updating only existing records through Import Scenarios. I remember that Acumatica has Update Existing mode on the Upload button on the grids:

,but not in the Import Scenarios.

It may need some custom modification to overcome this.

​@KeithEvans25 Not tried this but on your import scenario on the Target Restriction set a filter where the Container Nbr is not empty (not sure what exactly you are importing but basically the ID of the record you are trying to update

I tried that on other import scenario(import in receipts) before answering and it did not work, however knowing Acumatica it may work on Containers :). 

I had tried the target filter previously, annoyingly if I change it to the key field is empty it throws an error (the record already exists), what I want is it to fail if it can’t find the key field. The screen I need to update is 3rd party so cannot customise it. Thanks for help though, appreciate it.
