As per Top Management’s request, as the Acumatica ERP Implementation Project Manager, I need to provide a report that meets the requirements below. Please advise whether Acumatica has a built-in facility for this.
Cash Inflow (branch-wise): Local sales, Import sales, Bank facilities
Cash Outflow (branch-wise): PO payments (local and import), Other direct payments for expenses, with major categories
Other requirements: A Total column, Selectable reporting period

Hi @RuwanK

Proposal for Implementing a Branch-wise Cash Inflow and Outflow Report in Acumatica:
1. Review Standard Reports
Review Cash Account Summary (CA633000) and Cash Account Details (CA633500) to determine whether the standard reports meet the requirements for Branch, reporting period, and total cash inflows/outflows.

2. Define Data Classification
Agree with Management and Accounting on the classification criteria for Local Sales, Import Sales, Bank Facilities, Local PO Payments, Import PO Payments, and other expenses.
Note: Create separate Cash Accounts for business categories only if this reflects the company's actual cash account structure. If multiple categories use the same bank account, classify transactions using appropriate business criteria instead.

3. Build a Generic Inquiry (GI)
Build a GI to validate transaction data, classifications, Branches, and transaction dates, and ensure that cash inflows/outflows are not counted more than once.

4. Design the Report
Use Report Designer or Report Definitions to create a report with Branch columns, a Total column, selectable reporting periods, and total cash inflows/outflows. Prioritize standard functionality before considering customization.

5. Reconcile and Validate
Reconcile the report against Cash Management and the General Ledger (GL), verify sample transactions, and obtain Accounting's confirmation before deploying the report.

Guiding Principle: Prioritize standard Acumatica functionality, standardize data classification, and develop additional functionality only when necessary.

Regards,

NNT

@RuwanK There's no built-in report with that layout, so nhatnghetinh's plan is the right order of work. A few specifics to go with it.

On the standard reports, Cash Account Summary (CA633000) shows beginning balance, receipts, disbursements and ending balance per cash account, for the company or branch you pick. Cash Account Details (CA633500) lists one cash account's transactions. Neither splits receipts by sales type or puts branches side by side. The stock Cash Flow report (GL636500) is an ARM statement on the indirect method, so it starts from net income rather than receipts.

Report Definitions (ARM) reads amounts posted to GL accounts and subaccounts. That route works if each category has its own account or subaccount, which is the point of his cash account note.

If your categories come from customer class, vendor class and entry type instead, build the GI on cash transactions (CATran) and add a pivot table. Left join Customer and Vendor on CATran.ReferenceID = BAccountID, and CAAdj on TranID. A formula column picks the category: customer class on AR rows, vendor class on AP rows, entry type on cash entries. Filter on Released and a period range, and exclude tran types CTI and CTO so funds transfers between your own accounts drop out. In the pivot, put the category in Rows, Branch in Columns with Show Total on, and the amount in Values (receipts come in positive, payments negative).

Branch on CATran comes from the cash account, so the split works only if each branch has its own cash accounts. Set up separate customer and vendor classes for local and import, and an entry type on Entry Types (CA203000) for bank facility drawdowns and each expense category, entered as cash entries rather than journals.
