After upgrading to 2026 R1, we're getting an error when running the Print/Email AR Documents screen (AR508000) against invoices to flag them as "Do Not Email." The error returned is:

"Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

We traced this to the invoice's Status field. Running the process on an invoice in Balanced status fails with this error. Running the exact same process on an invoice in Open status completes successfully. We checked the Known Issues list for 2026 R1 on the Acumatica Portal and didn't find this documented anywhere.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open the Print/Email AR Documents screen (AR508000).
  2. Select an invoice in Balanced status.
  3. Run the process (e.g., to flag the invoice as Do Not Email).
  4. Error is thrown (see screenshot below).
  5. Repeat the same steps on an invoice in Open status - the process completes with no error

Just wanted to flag this for the Acumatica team - looks like a bug that came in with the upgrade.

Hi, I have the same issue on my demo instance. You should report the bug to Acumatica. This error message will occur when there is a situation that is not expected and managed by Acumatica.

A workaround would be to select the option Don’t Email at the Financial tab of the Invoices screen. Of course when there is a lot, a business event by action could be created.

Thanks for confirming that you’re seeing the same issue @Eric Ratté!

Unfortunately, we no longer have a direct support contract with Acumatica, so I’m not able to submit this as a support case directly. That’s why just posted it here, hoping the Acumatica team can review it and take note of it as a potential product bug.

I created the case on your behalf.
