Import Scenario for Trial Balance

Has anyone been able to get an import scenario to work for the Trial Balance screen?  No matter how I adjust the Commit checkboxes, the assignment of Import Number, or the Key assignment in the Data Provider among other things, the best I can do is get a single detail record saved and I wind up with the same number of trial balances created as I have records in the file.  I’ve tried using keys from the record (Branch, Ledger & Fiscal Period) and also an added field to the file to group the records by Key.  I currently have ‘<NEW>’ assigned to the Import Number field in the attached xml, but that isn’t the issue.  I haven’t had this issue with other import scenarios for screens that have a Master - Detail relationship.  Since I have about 15 companies and 13 trial balances that need loading per company, I’d rather use an import scenario over the grid import of the detail.  At this point, I haven’t even tackled the Validate step; I’d settle for just getting the detail records into one trial balance.  Thanks.

Hello,

The nature of Finance -- Trial Balance screen is, one trial balance must be released in both Trial Balance screen and again in Journal Transactions screen, before we can import another.

The nature of Import Scenarios is they work best when all actions can be performed in one screen.

If you’d like to Migrate GL historical balances for many companies and periods at once, I recommend importing Period Turnover figures (net change current month for each account omitting YTD Net Income) instead of ending balances in Journal Transactions screen. Net Turnover Current month can be loaded easily via Import Scenario to Journal Transactions screen for multiple companies and for multiple periods at once, without having to release each month before importing the next.

The prior system should have a Trial Balance report where you can find the figures in the Debit and Credit columns.  Please note: some trial balance reports show both a debit and a credit and these will need to be netted out, or separated into two lines, prior to import to Acumatica, where we can only have debit OR credit in a Journal transaction.

I hope this suggestion helps you.

Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion.  I’m aware that’s an option and probably will go with that approach for the period activity.  I’m interested in whether anyone had been able to get the screen to work with an import scenario though.  It does not appear to work the same as other screens by maintaining a master-detail relationship for multiple records using a designated key.
