Hello,
If a Cash Return was mistakenly entered, and there is no related Cash Purchase that you were trying to reverse… Entering a Cash Purchase transaction with the same Date, Posting Period, Vendor, Cash Account and Details as the Cash Return will nullify the mistaken transaction.

When you Void the Cash Purchase, the original and the reverse of the original are separate transactions in the system. Both the initial purchase and its reverse will appear in the Bank Reconciliation.
Depending on how they clear the bank, you can clear them on the same Reconciliation Statement, or on separate Reconciliation statements

I recommended using the same date as the original entry, to cause both the mistake and reversal of the mistake to post in the same month.
