How to edit sales unit price if linked po already closed

I wanted to clarify an important point regarding sales pricing and purchase orders in Acumatica.

The sales price on a Sales Order is independent of the vendor cost on the Purchase Order. In theory, changing the customer price should not affect the PO. However, when a Sales Order line is linked to a Drop Ship PO, Acumatica locks certain fields—including Unit Price—to maintain document integrity.

This means that once the PO is closed, the system prevents editing the Unit Price on the Sales Order, even though the two values are unrelated. While we can adjust the price at the invoice level, this does not update the Sales Order itself, which impacts sales journal reports and historical accuracy.

To ensure reporting reflects the correct price, we would need the ability to override the Unit Price on the Sales Order after PO closure. Currently, the workaround is to remove the PO link, apply the price change, and then proceed—but this is not ideal for audit trail purposes.

Please let me know if there is a configuration or best practice that allows price adjustments without breaking the PO link.

Hello @rrekhtman

I have tested it on sales demo, and it seems that there is not a way to update the unit price on SO linked to a closed drop-ship PO, the only w/a is to unlink the SO..

It might be possible through customization.
