Create Fixed Asset without AP Bill

Are there any repercussions of creating a Fixed Asset without an AP Bill (bypassing the Convert to FA step)?

  1. Create Fixed Asset
    • Debit FA and Credit FA Clearing
  2. Then Create Cash Entry to record the transaction
    • Debit FA Clearing and Credit Cash

This would bypass the AP Bill process completely and I want to be sure there won’t be later problems.

Hi @KevinGilbert

That should work. When you create the asset manually, you will be able to see the GL batch on reconciliation tab and can reconcile the asset.

Regards,

She created a JE for step 2 of the above (Credit Cash and Debit FA Clearing).  Thought I’d mention that in case it matters.

Thanks; that worked.  Also figured out that you can enter a negative amount during a Fixed Asset transaction to reverse depreciation previously taken that should not have been.  Love Acumatica’s flexibility!
