Child Credit Memo applied to Parent Invoice?

Is it possible to apply a credit memo from a child account to to an AR invoice of their parent? 

 

We have an issue where a customer’s employee bought something using a personal account (Customer ID 119290) and returned it - they want to apply that credit memo (AR116598) to an open invoice (AR116405) for their parent company (Customer ID 112492)

 

When I got to applications on AR116598 - the parents invoice isn’t available 

 

Consolidate Balance is selected on both the parent & child accounts. 

 

Anything I’m missing here?

Hi ​@kyle90 I believe only the parent can pay child invoice, not vice versa.

Sad - This seems to be a limitation that I assume few people would have asked for

Why does Acumatica display a combined “Current Balance” on the customer details inquiry if we can’t actually merge those open balances?

 

Short of a system to truly merge business accounts (which I know other have asked for but seems incredibly more complicated) why wouldn’t there be a way to balance the open AR between related parent/child accounts?

 

I’ve added the following idea - hope others would see benefit from this too
