Has anyone found (or created) a Project Cash Flow report? It would be great to see payments received, and bills paid by project.

Looking for this in 2024! Anyone?

Hello, @jparoski72 , @ashtonwilliams96

It will be easier to answer if you provide an example of exactly what your Cash Flow  by Project report needs to look like.

Are you referring to a Statement of Cash Flow, like the one Acumatica provides in the GL module, except using Project instead of by Company/Branch?  If yes, Project Cash Flow report may be built using ARM Reports - found in Preferences section of Finance module.  Your new report may be modeled off the existing Demo Report for Cash Flow, using the drop-down to choose Projects instead of GL where highlighted:

That said, I think it will be tricky (or impossible) to balance a Cash Flow report by Project: For a Cash Flow report for projects to balance, each account that is used in the GL Cash Flow report will need an Account Group linked in the Chart of Accounts. Each Project will need its own bank account -- these requirements would be an unusual configuration as many finance accounts on the Balance Sheet do not normally link to a Project Account Group.

I look forward to seeing your sample report.

@ashtonwilliams96 If I put my accounting hat on, I would say project cash flow can be defined in two ways. One could be interpreted as a forward looking forecast that compares the expected spending with projected billing. This will require a at least two screens to enter data and then inquire but to the best of my knowledge it doesn’t exist. Another one is looking at the historical data to see if a project has cash surplus/shortage based on cash receipts and payments. If you mean the second one, we have something that (last bullet of this post) can be helpful. See here

HI @ashtonwilliams96

Here are 2 older links that may help with what you are looking for:

https://community.acumatica.com/financials-7/manage-cash-flow-forecast-project-forecast-17261?tid=17261&fid=7

They both give different details but you could test with both to get you closer to what you are looking for.

Hope this helps :)
