Can subaccounts be turned on in the Enable/Disable screen after GL transactions have been released/posted?

Best answer by Laura03

Hello @jjones36 ,

Yes, Subaccounts feature may be turned on after posted transactions exist.

Once Subaccounts are enabled, the Subaccounts screen in Finance module will have one default Subaccount 0, already in the list.

The next step is to configure your Subaccount segmentation and length in Configuration →  Segmented Keys screen.

If you are validating segments, go to Segment Values screen next, to add segments (for example, if subaccount segment 2 represents Departments, a list of valid departments is needed).

Then return to Finance →  Subaccounts screen and over-type the existing 0 default Subaccount with a new key that fits your new segmentation, like 000-000 in the example shown above.

Then proceed to configure remaining subaccounts.
