Hi community,

We generated an invoice that is currently in Open status, but it has NOT been fiscally stamped (No Timbrado) yet.

One detail line was missing its Tax Category (IVA16), so total tax was undercalculated. Since the invoice is already released, lines are read-only.

Under the Corrections menu, we see Correct Invoice and Cancel Invoice. What is the recommended standard practice to re-issue or edit the tax on this document prior to CFDI stamping?

Thanks in advance for your guidance!

Hola, the correct invoice action will issue a credit memo behind the scene to reverse the invoice and will enable you to fix the tax category on the new (corrected) invoice.

In my opinion, you do not have any other choice.
