Does anyone know of a way to have the AP Bills automatically Release when collecting the final approval? Our AP currently has to take an additional step to release all documents since they all just go into the Balanced status rather than Open when all approvals are complete.

Have you looked at putting them on an Automation schedule? You could put the schedule for every hour or even 10 minutes.
