Application Period not in same month as Application Date on checks

Is there any reason the Application Period would not be the same month as the Application Date on checks? On Prepare Payments screen the Application Period matches the Application Date (users do not manually change this field) but once processed it changes in some cases

I suggest letting the post period default to the application date month and year, because it may cause reporting to be off between GL and subledger reports.

      In addition to what ​@bjeter78 has suggested, the Application Date field has been coded in such a manner that only for the Checks it gets updated to when checks are processed, whereas it remains the same for the other payment methods.

        Yes, this can happen. Here are the common reasons:

        1. Financial Period Closed
          If the period for the Application Date is closed (in AP or GL) at the time of release, Acumatica automatically moves the document to the next open period.

        2. Period Status Changed Before Release
          The period may have been open during Prepare Payments but closed before the check was released. The system revalidates the period during release.

        3. Module or Branch Period Restrictions
          If AP and GL periods are not both open, or if branch-specific periods are restricted, the system adjusts the Application Period.
