Adding Gross Profit & Net income % to P&L Report

Does anyone know how to add a column set that only calculates the % for gross profit and net income? I can only seem to get the formula to work to have a % of revenue of every single line rather than just these lines that I would like.

Hi,

1- On the column set, you set a Printing Group (Data tab on the modern UI), for example A, on the additional column where you want to view the %.

2- On the row that calculates the % of Gross profit,

  1. you indicate the you specify the Column Group A (Data tab under the View Condition section on modern UI).
  2. you also have to define the prinitng control to Merge Next (Formatting tab on modern UI).

By setting this view condition, the row will only appear at the column besides the amount.

@kgould, keep the formula you have and wrap it in an IIf so it only returns a value on the two rows you want:

=IIf(@RowCode='26' Or @RowCode='62', B/value('16','B'), Null)

In the demo P&L, 26 is Gross Profit, 62 is Net Income and 16 is Total Revenue. B is the amount column. Swap in your own codes. Then set Cell Evaluation Order on that column to Column. On Row, the total rows run their own formulas there, so Gross Profit comes out blank and Net Income shows 0.00%.

One catch on the redesigned Row Sets screen. @RowCode matches the code the row set stores, and on an older row set that isn't always the number in the Row column. If no % shows up, use Copy Row Set and point the report at the copy, since the copy stores the numbers you see. Rows inserted later renumber everything below them, and the column formula won't follow, so update it.

Eric's Column Group route works too. I built both on 2026 R1, and his also needed the formula taken off the % column (rows without a Column Group still print there), Merge Next on the Gross Profit row with the % row right below it, and Hide Zero on the % column.
