Adding a Date Range Filter to Financial Reports via Customization

Hello Acumatica Community ,

Is it possible to add a Date Range filter to Financial Reports in Acumatica through a customization? I'm trying to enhance financial reporting and would like users to be able to specify a from/To date range before running a report. Has anyone implemented something similar or used a customization approach to make this work?

Best Regards,

Hi @rohitr21 ,

This is possible.
We can add the From Date and To Date fields in the Report definitions screen and populate their values in the report parameters. This will allow the report to filter the data based on the selected date range.

Hello @rohitr21 ,

I’d like to understand your goal. Are you trying to print financial reports for a period of time that is smaller than one financial period?

For example, are you trying to provide weekly P & L reports that will report sales for Nov. 23 - Nov. 29? Accumatica ARM Reports do not provide capability to easily report for a partial financial period.

One work-around is to configure the financial year to have 52 periods. Another option is to use reporting outside the Acumatica Finance module, such as Velix o.

Hi @laurabarber45 ,

Yes, the goal is to filter the financial statements by a date range, as in the example you provided. However, the requirement is typically not limited to weeks. I would like the filter to accommodate any number of days.

It seems this is not a straightforward process, so we are exploring the possibility of customizing the Report Definition – Data Source Settings, which would allow me to enable requests for specific reports.

Has anyone come across this situation or have customized Report Definitions ?

Hi @rohitr21 As mentioned by @jinin , this is possible through Customization.
I understand the financial Statements are built with Account Classes that is user friendly to the Finance team.
But, If you want to avoid customizations, you can try to create a Generic Inquiry or a Report with From date and to Date. You can also try to utilize the Trian balance report as sample.

The short answer is not possible.

long answer is the financial statement retrieves it’s data from GLHistory table which is summarized by period so even if you add date range parameters to the UI, the dates do not exist in the ARM source table is reading from so you can filter.

you will need to use the Regular reports if you need data range filters.
