Have any versions prior to 2026R2 been updated with the CSV export type for 1099 e-file? This appears to be required by the IRS for filing for tax year 2026.

Finance: File 1099 Forms Through the New IRS IRIS System

Good news if you file 1099 forms: Acumatica ERP is ready for the IRS’s move away from FIRE. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is retiring the FIRE system and replacing it with the modernized Information Returns Intake System (IRIS). The changeover begins in the 2027 filing season (tax year 2026).

Starting in Acumatica ERP 2026 R2, the Create E-File process on the Create E-File (AP507500) form generates CSV files formatted for IRIS instead of FIRE for both 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC.

Hi @mfrance02,
From what the docs show, no - the IRIS CSV format starts in 2026 R2. That’s where Create E-File (AP507500) was changed to output IRIS CSV for 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC. Earlier supported versions still generate the FIRE .txt file, and I haven’t seen any announcement of a backport to 2025 R2 or earlier.

Since FIRE runs through tax year 2025 and IRIS kicks in for tax year 2026 (filed early 2027), you’d either want to be on 2026 R2 by that filing season or handle TY2026 another way (manual entry on the IRIS portal or a third-party filer). If a backport is planned it’d be worth confirming with Acumatica support, as I wouldn’t want to call that either way without it coming from them.
Hope this will help you.

Thank you for the confirmation. A backport to 2025R2 or earlier would be very helpful since filing season for 2026 is coming up quickly. I have a work around for clients using 3rd party e-filers, though that is not ideal.
