Why does Service Time get deleted from the log when reopened? Specifically, when a person other than the individual assigned to the appointment uncloses or reopens the appointment. Is there a way to keep this from occurring?

Hi,

This is the way the system was designed. The reopen action is meant to restore the appointment back to the initial status (Not Started), this means, before the work was performed.

In 2024 R2 we have improved this behavior by introducing a new action called Edit. Please find more information on the release notes. https://acumatica-builds.s3.amazonaws.com/builds/24.2/ReleaseNotes/AcumaticaERP_2024R2_ReleaseNotes.pdf

I hope that helps.

@vdiaz What if the time is linked to a Time Activity and is Approved and Released?  Can it still be deleted?

@ggnabasik47 Hi!

What if the time is linked to a Time Activity and is Approved and Released?  Can it still be deleted?

Log entries related to submitted, approved or released time activities cannot be deleted. The system has validation checks to prevent this.

However, there is known issue (already fixed in 2025 R2) in which users were able to delete the logs if they disabled the  (causing data inconsistencies).
