Is the Description Choice in the Shop for Rates Screen a Bug? 2021 R1

I’m pretty sure the “ship via description” field was the “description” field in the shop for rates screen in 2020. Why was it switched to the service method in 2021? Was this a mistake? I would argue that the ship via description was better
