Is there a way we can closed multiple open cases at one time vs. closing each one individually?

I don’t work with cases to know if something is available already, but GI’s may help you achieve this.  Have you tried Enable Mass Record Update and/or Enable Mass Actions on Records on the GI used for the primary list of the entry screen?  I don’t use either of these options, but I remember experimenting with them in the past.  Alternatively, a developer can create a custom processing screen.
