We have a customer that has the incorrect Customer ID. We have attempted to change the Customer ID by clicking on the AR303000 screen and selecting Change ID. We enter the correct Customer ID in the Specify New ID windows, then click OK, and click Save, we receive an error message that reads

Error: Another process has added the ‘Customer’ record. Your changes will be lost.

Can someone explain what the error message means, and if there is a way to change the Customer ID without having to create a new customer.

Thank you!

Hi @Del

This is a very common error for Acumatica.

Usually this happens for a few reasons:

  1. Another user is trying to change something on that record.
  2. That record is open on another tab.
  3. A user tried to do the same action twice.

Try to clear your cache and close all tabs and update the record again.

Hello,

In addition to what Kandy said above, the message you are seeing could mean that you are trying to change the Customer ID and when entering the New Id… a previously existing Customer ID, one that is already in your customer list, is being entered.

The new ID entered when we Change ID must not be a Customer ID that is already in your Acumatica Customer list.

(We can’t combine customers.)
