Audience: The course is intended for application developers who are starting to learn how to customize Acumatica ERP.

Training Description: This webinar is based on a set of examples that demonstrate the general approach to customizing Acumatica ERP. In the process of completing the examples, you will gain ideas about how to develop your own embedded applications by using the customization tools. As you go through the webinar, you will start to develop the customization for a cell phone repair shop, which you will continue in the further courses of the T series.

Training Syllabus: The program is covered over four days as follows:

  • Day 1: Prepare a Customization Project. Create a Form. In this session, you will learn What customization project is, how to create a customization project, and how to add a database script for a database table to the customization project. You will also learn how to create a form of the application by generating the needed items with the New Screen wizard, how to create a workspace, add a link to a custom form to the workspace, and update the SiteMapNode item in the customization project.
  • Day 2: Configure the Data Access Class and the Form. In this session, you will learn how to generate and configure a DAC, configure a view in a graph, add columns to a form grid, and configure the appearance of the columns in the grid. Moreover, you will learn how to add an event handler for a check box, and how to debug the code of a customization project by using Visual Studio.
  • Day 3: Extension Libraries. Create a Graph and a DAC in Visual Studio. In this session, you will learn how to create an extension library, open and build the created extension library in Visual Studio, how to add an event handler in Visual Studio and use Acuminator to refactor existing code. You will also learn how to define a graph and DAC in Visual Studio and configure a selector for a field and a drop-down menu for a field.
  • Day 4: Serviced Devices Maintenance Form. In this session, you will learn how to create an ASPX file, configure a data member for an Acumatica ERP form, and add the ASPX and ASPX.CS files to the customization project. Also, you will learn how to use Visual Studio to add controls and configure layout of a form, how to create a site map item for a custom form, save the created site map item to the customization project, add a form created in Visual Studio to the Screen Editor, and how to create a substitute form for a custom form and save it to the customization project.

Partner Certification: This class is based on the materials of the T200 Maintenance Forms course, which is part of the Application Developer badge. Completion of this class does not give you an automatic completion of the related course at Partner University; you will still need to complete the exam at Partner University.

*To provide a virtual machines (VM) for attendees, we need to generate a registration report, deploy the VMs, and send out the credentials. All this takes time and we have to do it several hours before the webinar. So we highly recommend not leaving the registration up to the last minute of the webinar start. Everyone who registers after 6 AM PT of Day 1 session will not receive the link to the VM and credentials for it and will have to attend a webinar in a view-only format.

In her current role as Technical Account Manager, Vidhya manages the relationships with different ISVs/partners, help them to resolve architectural/technical queries pertaining to the development of solutions for Acumatica and develops enhancements to the partner portal.

Before Acumatica, Vidhya has worked with employers of different domains like Food Manufacturing, Retail Banking and Telecom where she worked in the development of a variety of tools, applications and acted as a Scrum Master and Product Owner. On her tenure with Verizon and IBM, she was responsible for all the development of user tools and applications in the private cloud and led the whole migration activity from Verizon to IBM.

Prerequisites­

You should have proficiency with C#, knowledge of main concepts of ASP.NET and web development, and experience with SQL server.

Advance Preparations: None. Attendees will have access to the virtual machine with the pre-installed Acumatica ERP cloud instance and tenant for training purposes.
