Where does the declared value on a package default from?

Hello,

We use Pick, Pack, and Ship in our warehouse to process packages which ship via UPS.

Recently we noticed the declared value on these packages is $0.0.

Where does the system look for the value? (It would make sense for it to default from the MSRP field in the stock item.)

I cannot find a setting/documentation that helps; Can’t imagine that the system expects it to be entered manually every time.

@cdelacruz Testing in my local sales demo the declared value is the same as the line total for the order

Hi @dsimmerly,

Thank you for confirming. Something is not working correctly on our end, will have to do more digging on if there is a setting somewhere or if a customization is causing an issue.

We are working on a similar issue. We created a number of boxes that automatically add to the order. Automatically adding boxes saves us a lot of time while packaging orders and prepping for shipment. However, we want the declared value to be $0, not pull from the price on the order. Is there a way to change how this works and just push $0 as the declared value for all items that are automatically boxed?

I'm just happy we're finally using something other than Realtime.

Unfortunately no, we had a third party create a customization to add the MSRP of an item to the package.
