What happens when the auto-incremental value exceeds 9999, does it start over creating duplicates or does it just stop and the items become unassigned?

We have a customer that is fast approaching 9999 on their auto incremental value numbering?  I would like to know what happens in Acumatica when this happens.  Does auto numbering stop? Does it continue counting?  We want to have a plan in place if needed?

Hello,

Go to the Lot/Serial Class and add a 0 in front of the existing Value:

I tested in version 2024 R1 and was able to update the # of digits easily.

The HELP implies that numbering will stop when your digits reach 9999:

How does Auto-Increment work in Acumatica Community when the Points exceed 99999 ??  Do we need to add another digit in the front?  I hope the counter doesn’t roll over to 00001 points. 😄
