USPS Ground Advantage is missing in the Carrier Ship Via setup

Forum|alt.badge.img

The USPS has recently changed its service packages of First Class, Parcel Select, and Retail Ground services. These services will now be offered under a new service called Ground Advantage. I noticed that the Ship Via choices for stamps.com and EasyPost do not support these recent changes.

I have not seen any information from USPS about when they will be retiring these services, but I found a related article from EasyPost.

Users will be able to buy USPS Ground Advantage shipments using the new "GroundAdvantage" service name or the legacy "First" or "ParcelSelect" service names through Jan 21, 2024, at which time the legacy service names will no longer be supported.

Hi everyone, a new update for this topic:

EasyPost have granted an extension to the January 21st deadline for Ground Advantage service method exclusively for Acumatica customers using our native integration. The new deadline is March 1st. The older service methods will continue to be replaced with Ground Advantage until then.

Our next minor updates for 2023 R1 and 2023 R2 are coming up soon. The enhancements to include Ground Advantage for USPS via our EasyPost and Stamps.com integrations will be available with:

  • 2023 R1 Update 15
  • 2023 R2 Update 8

@schneur96 Today EasyPost / ShipEngine are accepting the service methods and automatically creating the proper USPS Ground Advantage labels/documentation. We are investigating with our partners to learn what changes (if any) needs to be made to our integration so that when the legacy services are deprecated, our integrations are continuing to function without interruptions.

Update: With Acumatica version 2023 R1 Update 15 and later, the USPS Ground Advantage option will be available via our EasyPost, ShipEngine, and Stamps.com integrations.

@Omar Ghazi

EasyPost has listed the cutoff date as 1/24/24.  The latest published version is 2023 R1 update 14.  What is the workaround so we continue proccessing orders until update 15 is available and can be implemented?

This will cost us $10 and up more per shipment, and for others, this will vary based on their negotiated rates. When will the hotfix be available, or can this be available upon request? We will need some time to review the update before publishing.

On the Easypost website, they have a new article posted on 1/3/24. They will be moving forward with these changes.

EasyPost added GA and has continued to support both PSG and FCPS within the API to allow time for our customers to migrate to the new GA mail class. On January 21, 2024, PSG and FCPS will no longer be supported and users will need to use USPS Ground Advantage instead.

We are also depending on this integration. We are in the height of our busy season. We cannot do a last second upgrade or go down. Most of our shipping goes USPS.

Ability to support USPS GA is paramount for some of our customers as well. And they received an email saying that Parcel Select Ground (PSG) and First-Class Package Service (FCPS) will be deprecated on January 21. So, we’re really just a few days away.

However, our client is on 23R2, not R1.

@Omar Ghazi any idea when this update will be released. Four days is pushing it for an upgrade…

As mentioned, Ground Advantage is going to be available with the upcoming 2023 R1 Update 15, and 2023 R2 Update 7 8.

While these updates are right around the corner, there would be a gap. I am working with the EasyPost team, with priority, to extend the grace period they published for our users. I will post back as soon as I have more clarity from that team.

Do we know what these release dates are? We have a larger installation (few thousand shipments a day) and need time to vet each update.

@zdharris The release of 2023 R1 Update 15 is scheduled for mid-February. It’s a tight deadline for all of us.

@Omar Ghazi is there any solution for this for customers still on 2022 R2? Our customer received notice on 3/20/24 that Parcel Select and First Class Package will officially be unavailable as of 4/1/24.

@kristybrooks83 it might be possible via a customization for 2022 R2, but you’d have to engage with Acumatica Services to investigate this option.
