I have found this similar error for other transactions but has anyone specific seen it when Confirming a Shipment?

i have only had this issue with production parts and recalculating the inventory does not remove the negative qty in our shipping location.

Hi @rdillard64

Have the invoiced shipments had their invoices released? Once released, they should disappear from the Inventory Allocation.

Hi @rdillard64

Please check the inventory allocation details for specific Item Warehouse location. The quantity reflected may have been allocated to different document.

Let us know if that is the case.

Regards,

you may be on to something. I went to Line Details on the only open sales order i had allocated this part to and unchecked the allocation box and saved to record so i would have no open sales orders with a allocated parts.   then looked at inventory summary again.  i have 13 on hand in my shipping location “WHFLOOR” but only 1 available.

So i ran Inventory Allocation Details for the same part and same Location and show 12 are allocated to Shipments that have already invoiced?  i checked and I have shipped more than 12 since we went live on 12/1/2024.   What can i look at to see why Invoiced Shipments are still showing up on Inventory Allocations Details?

Please check when your inventory is being updated - it could be at invoice release (see previous answer by another poster).  This will update the on hand levels and deduct. Some customers update inventory (through a process or manually) ahead of invoice release, for example after they’ve done their shipment confirmation.
