We need to override the DAC field and run an Alter script to increase the field length. However, make sure this change does not cause issues or break functionality in other areas.

Posting Classes are not linked to segmented keys the same way Item Classes are.
If you need additional segmentation for Posting Classes, you would need to implement customizations to introduce the extra segments.
How about just increasing the size of the field?
