Does anyone else run into the issue of not being able to use non-stock kits because any component that has user-enterable lots cannot be added to a Non-stock Kit specification?

If so, what was your solution? This has been a huge pain point for us.

@AndreaJac88 The way we fixed this was to create a new lot class and switch all of our products needing lots over to the new class. Switching them is the most tedious part because you can’t change the lot class of an item if it is allocated anywhere.

Here is the new set up of the lot class. It still allows you to enter your own lots just as you would if using user-enterable.

Hope this helps!

We used to be able to do this, in fact we have a bunch of kits setup this way.  Now we can’t create more so I would agree that this is pain point.  Not sure which update “fixed” this.

@jon95 which release version was this working in for you?

To be honest - not sure exactly when it stopped working.  We are currently on 2022 R2 build 22.211.0034.  We have had some kits setup this way since we started with Acumatica in 2018.  That is as close as i can narrow it unfortunately.  I should note - we do not use these particular kits as a “sales kit” since there was historically availability calculation issues with Non-stock kits (components would not show demand).  We have a customization to use the kits as a shortcut to add items to sales orders instead.

@Dana Moffat Do you think this is something we can get back in the near future? Or is this something you would recommend a customization for? I know it hits a bunch of different screens so it would be a pretty tough customization. We are just at a stand still with non-stock kits especially with Big Commerce because of this.

@Dana Moffat, we have exactly the same issue. Is there a way to overcome this? Could we maybe get in touch?

We are facing this issue as well. We went live under 24R1 using a lot/serial class with the assignment method of “When Received” and issued method of “User-Enterable”. At that time we were able to create non-stock kits using stock items having the above mentioned lot/serial class without any issues.

Like others have mentioned in this thread we are unable to make modifications to our kit specifications now due to the error. I experimented with the suggestion of using an issue method of “Sequential” but this does not align with our business process since we sell kit component stock item also individually on sales orders where the lot needs to be manually assigned rather than automatically assigned.

The only option I see available for us is to change our business process to accommodate this Acumatica feature, but that is not preferable. Any suggestions?
