I’m running into an issue, where on Shopify Avalara will charge a “special tax”, but Acumatica doesn’t recognize it.

You need to Upgrade to 24r2 Update 11.

This is still an issue for our customer. Is this fixed? We are on version - Build 25.101.0153.3.
