Hi everyone,
I’m looking for guidance from the community on a matrix item performance issue we’re encountering.
Background
We have a client that relies heavily on matrix items, with a single attribute (Color) that currently has 6000+ values and continues to grow. This is due to vendors introducing many unique color variations over time.
Problem
We are seeing significant performance issues when working with template items:
- Template screen takes a long time to load
- System performance degrades noticeably
- In some cases, the screen becomes nearly unusable
It appears the system is attempting to process a very large number of attribute values when loading the template.
Constraint
Breaking the attribute into multiple attributes is not an option for this client because:
- It would disrupt their current product structure
- It would negatively impact SEO and eCommerce product organization
Questions
- Has anyone dealt with very large attribute value sets (thousands) in Acumatica?
- Are there any best practices for managing matrix items at this scale?
- Any known performance tuning options or limitations with attributes/matrix items?
- Has anyone implemented a custom workaround (e.g., limiting load, alternative UI, etc.)?
We’re trying to understand whether this is a known limitation and what viable paths others have taken without restructuring the attribute.
Appreciate any insights or direction.
Thanks,
Nirav
