It’s possible that this is something fixed in later versions (we’re 23R1 currently). When I’m in Payments and Applications, and I add a new line and select the Invoice type, I can then begin typing in an invoice number and it’ll search as I type.
If I choose another type (I’ve tried Credit Memos and Overdue Charges), and begin typing in the reference number for one of those, the search as I type results come back as “No Results Found”. I can click the magnifying glass and look up from there, or if I know the full number, I can type it in and hit tab and the details fill in.
This isn’t a huge problem, but we’re trying to figure out why our lockbox module (from Crestwood) will never auto match overdue charge invoices, and we’re wondering if it may be that Crestwood is doing the same type of lookup (since the module just creates payment records).
