Inventory Transfer - How do I Restore the RELEASE Button?

We have a Role that requires the ability to release inventory transfers. To all indications, I have set the Security Access appropriately. However, the green RELEASE button does not appear nor is there an option to Release in the 3 dots menu. 

 

Originally, we removed the ability for this Role to release transfers, but we now need to restore that access. How do I restore the Release button?

Hi! Can you share what access you have specifically configured for this role? That would help with troubleshooting why this role does not see the release button.

The permission is going to be under Inventory > Transfers > Receipt > Release

You can get there by going into a Transfer and hitting Access Rights under the gear at the top right, or by using SM201025 Access Rights by Role

You should check the role’s permissions on the folders all the way down to the Release action (i.e. check role’s permission on the entire Inventory folder, then entire Transfers folder, etc.)

In the permissions under Inventory > Transfers > Receipt > Release, Release is Inherited (with all the above permissions set as Delete).

I just tested and this configuration works for me (allows user to access Release button)

 

I would say that another one of the user’s roles may be conflicting but the more permissive setting should take precedence. Maybe another role has Release revoked and Inherited is not taking precedence where Edit might. Might be worth a shot to create a new user and assign them only one roll to test it out.

@jsudak Jay I agree with ​@xkylewrightx. I recently ran into this same issue when trying to update some customization. I had the Customizer role, but another role overrode the permissions of the Customizer. I’m happy to jump on a call Thursday or Friday at 3pm central to see if I can help, if you are still stuck.
