Hi @Johanes

Using Cross Reference with Barcode type on Stock Items allows users to scan barcodes instead of typing Inventory IDs, which improves speed, reduces errors, and supports multiple barcodes or UOMs for the same item.

Key Benefits:
+ Faster data entry using barcode scanners
+ Reduce manual entry errors
+ Support multiple barcodes per item
+ Support different UOMs (Each, Box, Pallet)
+ Useful for Warehouse, Shipping, and Receiving

Best Regards,

NNT

Of all of the cross reference types, Barcode is my favorite because it seems to be the most universal.  It works in order entry and in all of the WMS functions.  We setup most of our cross references (even if they are just alternate SKUs) as barcode type.

Hi @Johanes

No, Barcode Cross Reference can be used without WMS in Acumatica.
You can manually type or scan the barcode into the Inventory ID field on screens such as: Sales Order, Shipments, Purchase Orders, Purchase Receipts, Inventory Issues, Transfers., and the system will automatically convert it to the correct Inventory ID using the Cross Reference setup.

WMS is recommended if you need advanced warehouse operations such as:

+ Mobile barcode scanning
+ Directed picking
+ Bin/location management
+ Receiving and shipping workflows
+ Full warehouse automation

Using barcode cross-references improves speed, accuracy, and flexibility across inventory operations and is especially valuable in environments using barcode scanners.

thanks for all of you.  i have configure my stock item with barcode type on cross reference.

i use diferent code for barcode type with inventory id. when i tested on ACM, i found that :  on screen Purchase Receipt barcode can resolve to inventory id. while on the screen issues, transfer and receipts, cannot be resolved.

Is that true, or is it because there is a configuration error?
