If we send a quotation through email, if the customer replies back to the email will that be recorded under the Incoming email? Do we have to work on any integration or does standard Acumatica support this?

Hi, the reply from the customer will be processed as an incoming email. If I remember correctly, the incoming email processing option must be selected for the email account used initially to send the docuemnt to the customer.

Will the customer email will be attached under the activity of the Quote?

@MichelleW yes, standard Acumatica handles this without an integration. When the customer replies to a quote email you sent from Acumatica, the reply comes in as an incoming email and shows up in that quote's activities.

Eric's right that it's processed as an incoming email. The link to the quote comes from the basic processing that runs on every email a system email account receives, so you don't need the Incoming Mail Processing check box for it. That box turns on the extras, like creating cases or leads from emails.

Acumatica matches the reply to the email it sent using the reply's message headers. As a backup, select Add Tags for the Incoming Processing on the Incoming Mail Processing tab of Email Accounts (SM204002). It adds a tracking tag to the subject, and replies still match as long as the customer leaves the subject alone.

To set it up, give the email account that receives the replies an incoming mail server. Then schedule Send/Receive All on Send and Receive Email (SM507010) so replies get downloaded.

Processing only files the email. It doesn't change the quote's status or any field on it. What does "updated" need to mean for you: a status change, a field on the quote, or a heads-up to the sales rep? That decides how to build it.
