GI/Business Event to show Duplicate Lot/Serial Numbers

Wondering if anybody has come up with a solution to show duplicate lot/serial numbers if used in different item classes?  Client needs to be able to resolve duplications of serial numbers when posted, we have the Lot Serial Class set to Share Auto-Incremental Value between all class items but it doesn’t stop you posting the same serial number to an item in a different class.  I created a GI to show duplicates by joining the InSiteLotSerial to the InSiteLotSerial as an alias but have had to use groupings to get it to work,  I then can’t get a business event to send an email when a new record is inserted due to grouping.   I have tried other tables InItemLotSerialInfo but this doesn’t report correctly and struggling to find away without going down the customisation route of extending Dacs etc.

    ​@JenniferMacdonald08 You cannot use Groupings in a GI with a business event it is a known limitation. I dont know if this would work but worth ago, Use the InItemLotSerial table and join it to the same table in the GI using the CompanyID and Lot Serial Nbr matching and the InventoryID does not equal the InventoryID. This should give you the result and should then trigger business event.

    ​@dcomerford - thanks for replying, this is what I have in my GI but it doesn’t show the correct information unless it is grouped hence the business event not then triggering.  I think it may be customisation.

    ​@dcomerford - nothing complex in the GI it is set as below but using the InItemLotSerial table we get strange results, seems to show phantom records, for instance serial 444773 has only been receipted into the one item but shows against two inventory items on the GI.
