Are Document level discounts the only kind that are editable after they are added to an SO? I’ve been testing and that seems to be the case but thought I would ask

Hi, you can also have a discount at the line-level, and a group discount.

You can create discount code that are added automatically or manually. Using discount code allows producing reports afterwards and also triggering approvals depending on the discount code added.

You can read more about discounts at: https://help.acumatica.com/Help?ScreenId=ShowWiki&pageid=49b6f685-4b1c-4abd-b268-f75d41d9396c

Hi @dschille,

Here’s how the discounts behave:

  1. Line (manual) discounts

    • Fixed by the discount percent
    • If you change line details, the system keeps the same percentage and recalculates the discount amount automatically
  2. Document (manual) discounts

    • Fixed by the discount amount
    • You can edit the amount, and the system recalculates the percentage if the order total changes
  3. Group discounts

    • Applied and managed on the Discounts tab
    • These can be removed (for example, by using the Skip Discount option where applicable), but they aren't edited directly in the same way as line or document discounts

So, both line-level manual discounts and document-level manual discounts can be edited after they have been added to a Sales Order. Group discounts are managed differently
