We have a separate warehouse for each factory (e.g., 10, 11, 16). Warehouse 10 is working almost properly, but for warehouses 11 and 16 the one-step transfer is not created automatically.
We need a quick process to add goods to these warehouses and their relevant locations, but it is not working properly and all items are being in good in transit.
The goods are arriving in the In-Transit location and are not reaching the warehouse location.
Could you please look into this and correct it?
+7@RuwanK goods stay in In-Transit when they move on a 2-step transfer and no transfer receipt has been released at the destination warehouse yet. Releasing that receipt is what puts them on hand in 11 or 16.
If you ship with a TR transfer order, Update IN on the shipment always posts a 2-step transfer. Quick Process on a transfer order can run Create Shipment, Confirm Shipment and Update IN, but it has no step that creates the receipt. That's a separate document at the receiving warehouse:
- For a TR transfer order, go to Purchase Receipts (PO302000), set Type to Transfer Receipt and the warehouse to 11 or 16, use Add Transfer to pull in the order, then Release.
- For a 2-step transfer entered on Transfers (IN304000), create a receipt on Receipts (IN301000) and select the transfer in Transfer Nbr.
Release moves the cost from the In-Transit account into inventory, so check the quantities before you release. The Goods in Transit report (IN616500) shows everything still waiting.
For the locations, if you use Receive and Put Away (PO302020), its Receive Transfer mode creates the transfer receipt when you scan the transfer shipment (turn on Display the Receive Transfer Tab in Purchase Orders Preferences). Put Away then builds a 1-step transfer from the receiving location to the storage locations in that warehouse and releases it.
