Continuity by Stock Item

We need a way to track product continuity by stock item. This includes identifying the customer that purchased the stock item (can be free text but prefer to select actual) and the date through which we commit to keep offering this inventory.

I’m thinking I’ll end up using an attribute option but would love some other suggestions. Is this something restriction groups could be good for?

@sarahbibelhausen - I’d love to hear some more detail on what you have in mind here.  Creating a GI on the SOLine DAC will allow you to pull in Customer SO detail line information related to specific Stock Items.  You can use an Attribute on the Inventory Item (call it, say, “Commit Through”) and pull that into the GI as well.

As far as restriction groups are concerned, you can absolutely configure restriction groups by items (IN103020) but it might be more efficient to do it by Item Class (IN103010).

Hi @sarahbibelhausen  @nickcerri32  I agree on the simplified approach of having custom attributes like below to the respective Stock Item class:!--startfragment>

  • Customer (Attribute selector to Customer table like PXObject.AR.Customers, or free text if needed).
  • Commitment End Date (Attribute date field)

I also like the idea of @nickcerri32  to join the SOLine and show the Continuity by Customer, By Actual SO date.
With restriction groups, you can control the visibilities. Is it possible to elaborate the requirements a bit more to understand why a Restriction group is required.
